Alright, so today's task, say you want to center you're drawing or painting etc. a square in a bigger space, how would you do that in the way that looked best? Wouldn't it be great if you could center the square so with the space on either side would be a golden section? You can do that, here's how:
Take the width of your paper (etc.), that is the line that you're working with. Also, you should do this on a scratch piece of paper first, so draw a line the same size.
Find the perpendicular of your horizontal line and draw that in.
Set your compass in the center point of the horizontal line and draw a half circle on that line.
In the center of the half circle, draw a double square (or the corners of one).
Draw a diagonal line through each of the double squares to meet the half circle.
Draw a line to connect the diagonal lines.
Set your compass with the point in the center of the top horizontal line and set the drawing point to one of the diagonal line intersections. With your compass set the same way, put the point in the center of the bottom horizontal line and mark the two bottom points of the square.
The square is now the center of two golden sections. Leave the distance between one half of the semicircle and square between the top of your space and the square.

Genesis
Posting is not going as usual this week, sorry about that. I've got a deadline coming up for a show application (wish me luck there) and it's not sent off yet, and yesterday was my normal blogging day but the days events seriously deviated from my plan. Here's the next piece in the Genesis series. This piece was another one of the first pieces I made for this series, the first ten or so. It comes from Genesis 1:12.

Genesis
This piece is the next piece of the Genesis series. It's based on Moses 2:8 and Abraham 4:8. The piece is called Firmament Called Heaven, and I tried to use symbolism to visualize heaven. The pillars represent a transition. The orthagon square is in the middle, it contains all 12 of the orthagons, I would once again remind myself and other artists that it perhaps would be good to leave yourself notes on what deep and creative ideas you have behind your pieces, so that you will remember them later on. I guess what I was going for with all of the symbols is perhaps a sense of the eternal, with the orthagons, the alpha and omega and the color purple which it the color of royalty. I'm very sorry that I can't remember more of the thoughts behind this piece.

Sacred Geometry: A Primer
Today, the Biauron, as you might guess from its name, it's related to the auron or golden section, it's one of my favorites of the orthogons.
We begin as usual, with a square.
Then use the compass (set to over half of the line) to find the half way point of the square.
On the lower half of the square draw a diagonal from top left of the half to bottom right.
Set your compass with the point on the left half of the square and arc up to meet the diagonal line.
From the bottom corner on the right set the compass from the diagonal line arc to the left line of the square.
Set your compass on the point where the arc and the square meet, point on the point and set the lead to the bottom of the square and make a semicircle.
Draw the top of the biauron where the semicircle ends.

Sacred Geometry: A Primer
Today's how to is the Auron or the golden section, probably the most famous/well known of the orthogons. The auron is the most beautiful proportion there is and very prevalent in nature.
To begin you start with a square.
Find the half way point on your square.
From the half way point arc up.
Repeat on the other side and top off the line.
The golden section can repeat infinitely.
You can also make the golden spiral.
